Campus Profile: Meredith is the largest private, four-year college for women in the Southeast United States, yet its size has not reached the unwieldy proportions that characterize many larger public and private colleges and universities. Meredith maintains a strong sense of close personal community, while at the same time offering students a wealth of enriching opportunities. Meredith is recognized for its excellent academic programs, yet the cost of attending is among the most moderate in the state of North Carolina.

The College, founded in 1891, emphasizes the liberal arts. Total enrollment numbers approximately 2,100 students from 33 U.S. states and 22 countries. Special programs include study abroad throughout the world, internships and cooperative education, undergraduate research opportunities, pre-professional programs and teacher education. The Meredith community of students, scholars, administrators, and staff share a commitment to one ideal: an excellent education for women in a setting that would involve challenge, inspire confidence, hone leadership skills, deepen spiritual understanding, and lead outward -- into the world of work and citizenship.

Location: Meredith College is located on a 225-acre campus in North Carolina's capital city of Raleigh, near Research Triangle Park. The Triangle is home to major universities, historic sites, clubs, restaurants, professional sports teams, cultural attractions and much more. With more than 90,000 other college students who attend one of the area's nine campuses, there's always something fun to do! Although Meredith's 15,000 living alumnae have gone global (residing in 23 foreign countries and 46 U.S. states), 4,400 of them have opted to remain in the Triangle area.
